Data-driven design thinking process

Research Proposal Summary

Emerging technologies and data-driven innovations are reshaping the relationships between citizens, cities, and architectural spaces. This transformation has inspired new concepts and proposals among city planners and architectural scholars addressing issues of place and mobility.

Focusing on data-driven city planning initiatives and platforms in Scotland, I present my ongoing research proposal on temporary habitation units framed within data-driven design thinking. Drawing from my personal experience as a mobile student in Edinburgh, my research seeks to integrate theories and practices from mobile architecture and urban informatics.

I propose a novel system of habitation designed for mobile citizens that recognizes the realities of mobility and migration in contemporary urban contexts. This proposal builds upon a comprehensive review of diverse data practices, culminating in a semi-autonomous pod system that responds dynamically to both top-down and bottom-up data flows.
